荒岛男与俏宅女 tells the story of goldsmith Jin Zeng (played by Zheng Wei) who lost his job due to a company reorganization and had no choice but to jump off the Han River's bridge to take one last look at life. However, upon waking up from his suicide attempt, he finds himself stranded on a small island in the middle of the river, with no way out or back home.The story follows Jin Zeng as he adjusts to his new life on the island, where he has to rely on the limited resources available to him in order to survive. Alongside Jin Zeng's struggles, we are introduced to a young woman named Goldie (played by Zheng Liwen), who is an aspiring photographer with autism and is known for only coming out of her shell once a year during a school dance.As Jin Zeng's attempts at self-destruction continue, he crosses paths with Goldie in the city when she witnesses his attempt to end his life. The story follows Jin Zeng as he tries to find a way off the island while learning to adapt to his new environment and form a connection with Goldie who finds herself drawn into his world of urban alienation.Will Jin Zeng ever escape the island or will his fate remain stuck in the past Can Goldie overcome her autistic nature and open up to life beyond her daily routine With help from Goldie, Jin Zeng may just find a new lease on life in this modern-day take on the classic tale of Robinson Crusoe.
